The many clean beaches along the Wollongong coastline are popular attractions of the area. They are renowned as the training ground of many world famous boardriders, a haven for anglers and a playground for families and surfers wanting to soak up a bit of sun and swim in the pristine waters of the South Pacific.
A major feature of these beaches is the effort of the voluntary lifesavers and the council lifeguards - these young men and women are on patrol during the summer months. For your own safety, always swim between the flags and protect yourself and your family against the sun’s harsh rays. Most beaches have shower and toilet facilities.
