Shopping in Wollongong

If you want to shop, Wollongong City Centre has something for everyone and is guaranteed to meet your shopping needs.  Centred around our 2 major department stores, David Jones & Myer, Wollongongs Crown St Mall has over 300 speciality stores & commercial outlets ranging from fashion, homeware and sporting equipment to gifts and accessories.  Crown St Mall is ideally located in the heart of the city centre and also hosts an array of restaurants, retail stores & business facilities and is within easy walking distance of the foreshore & the cities major sporting and entertainment facilities.

Shopping-1.jpgMajor regional shopping centres are located at Corrimal, Figtree, Dapto and Warrawong. Each offers a multitude of goods and services ranging from everyday necessities through to specialty lines. Of course, each centre has an excellent choice of eating establishments as well. In fact, most suburbs have thriving central business districts.
These boast a smorgasbord of unique boutiques and specialty shops to delight shoppers.

For those who can't resist a bargain the Wollongong markets operate every Thursday and Saturday. The stalls sell everything from fashion, pottery and crafts to plants and fresh flowers. The Dapto markets are held every Sunday at the local showground. This market is famous for its bric-a-brac and craft stalls. Two additional venues for locally produced arts and crafts are the Coledale School Markets, held on the fourth Sunday of every month; and the Wollongong Produce & Creative Traders Market, held every Friday in the Wollongong City Mall.

Antique lovers will be impressed with the large selection of specialist shops offering fine antique furniture, furnishings, ceramics and collectables of all kinds. Two antique centres, one in the heart of the city and the other in the northern suburbs, as well as an excellent choice of antique and bric-a-brac shops offer everything from the commonplace to 'one of a kind' originals.
If that's not enough, then a quick trip to the neighbouring Southern Highlands region is a must. First port of call is The Mittagong Antiques Centre where 45 dealers offer a huge assortment of wares.
