Aboriginal Culture of the Illawarra

The centre is a community meeting place as well as a cultural development program. The Cultural Development Officer coordinates a range of programs for local and visiting artists, cultural education, and community events.

 The centre has an audio visual display about Indigenous history, collections of local artifacts and art works by local artists, as well as a gift shop.

This centre is located in a natural landscape that includes a wetland surrounded by a landscaped area with indigenous plantings and a walkway.

The centre is a meeting place and its main cultural activity is to support the creation and display of art works; mainly paintings and ceramics. The centre holds exhibition openings and art workshops; the staff conduct regular art workshops for community groups and schools, and undertake commissioned work in the Illawarra and region.
